Review: Clay’s Instinct [Wolf Call #2] 2/5 (1)
All , Erotica , Paranormal , Short Stories / March 19, 2019

Review: It turns out this week would be romance/erotica week so here we go with Clay’s Instinct, the second story of the series ‘Wolf Call’ by Abbey Polidori.

Instead of the story picking up from where Logan and Sarah left us it switches to Clay, a local sheriff in a small city called Faith. He is also persecuted by a secret organization bent on catching and experimenting on superhuman creatures like werewolves and vampires (so far those are the only two types we have heard of but only have seen werewolves). The story itself expands and now instead of purely romantic/erotic storyline we have a bit of conflict. It’s still very much on the background since this story is more or less about yet another couple mating – Clay and the reporter Lucinda.

Review: Magic Triumphs [Kate Daniels #10] 5/5 (1)
All , Fantasy / February 23, 2019

Review: Every good things must come to and end, or so people keep saying. Magic Triumphs is that end for the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. I’m devastated. Not because it was bad but because it is the end, no more books about Kate ;( I’ll have to console myself with the Iron Covenant but it is not the same… )

I started reading the series last year after a friend recommended it. I ate up the first six books like my life depended on it. The story, the main characters, the love drama, the action – it all just clicked in place for me. Until these series I have always hesitated when asked ‘What is your favorite book or series?’ because there are so many I like. But now I know I won’t hesitate (too bad the whole series doesn’t have a name )

Review: Magic Binds [Kate Daniels #9] 5/5 (1)
All , Fantasy / February 19, 2019

Review: Magic Binds is the 9th book of the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews and by now I am really out of nice things to say. Looking back I realize with awe how much more complicated and serious the story became without loosing its specific humor and passion. Most series fall prey to this but not this series – and thank god for that!

Kate has claimed Atlanta and she is trying her best to protect it from her father and every creature with ill intentions that crosses its borders. But her father is playing coy, building a castle just outside the limits, baiting her by entering her territory, sending spies and whatnot. But they both know that this game of cat and mouse can’t last forever.

Review: Magic Extras [Kate Daniels Extras] 4/5 (1)
All , Fantasy / February 14, 2019

Review: Magic Graves(0.5) or also as we know it A Questionable Client was one of my favorite short stories of the series. I like Saiman, well, sometimes, and I find him fascinating. And I always wondered what the story was behind the ‘friendship’ or whatever it is between him and Kate. I somehow imagined it to start just like this and I had a good laugh as I read.

The story follows Kate on a job as a bodyguard detail – her least favorite type of job. But beggars can’t be choosers so she drags her butt to the only standing tall building in a shitty neighborhood with no idea who she will be guarding and from what. All she knows is that the money are good.

Review: Magic Strikes [Kate Daniels #3] 5/5 (1)
All , Fantasy / March 29, 2018

Review: If I put as much passion into work as I put into reading… well, I might start going places 😀 I need to find a job reading books and getting paid for it…

Anyway, I finished with Magic Strikes by Ilona Andrews, third book of the series about Kate Daniels, about 8 am this morning. Yes, I did read all night. Sue me. Now I’m so hooked that I may do something stupid like stay up all night before a work day. I haven’t felt so pumped up since the last Skulduggery Pleasant book but the latter lacked something Kate Daniels’ books are full of – romance, sexual tension and heavy dose of heavy language. Everything else is there – the humor, the fighting, the mystery, the monsters and of course the bad-ass characters.
